Green Thumb Project
|
The Midnight Farm Green Thumb project has begun! The project is centered around a 1500 square foot greenhouse which is powered by our own natural gas and water wells. The greenhouse includes growing of bedding plants, herbs, hanging baskets and planters. Persons with disabilities have many opportunities to participate in the growing and selling of items produced. The growing program also includes raised bed and square foot gardening, with the production of fruits and vegetables that can be utilized for cooking classes within the lodge, and for selling at local farmer’s markets.
Midnight Farm hosts regular sales events, walk-in and online. We also have large open house plant sales along with Belgian wagon rides, story telling, farm demonstrations, petting paddocks, cook-outs, games, and other attractions that make buying produce, plants, and flowers a day-long family event. We also offer mobile produce stands at farmer’s markets and at sites along K-10 and K-7.
